The pink prominent is a North American moth. Its colors resemble a diluted or muted version of the unrelated rosy maple moth, dryocampa rubicunda, though its patterns are noticeably different. Currently, it is listed as uncommon or rare to find in the wild. In Connecticut, USA, the species is considered of special concern.
